Welcome to General Education

What is Gen Ed?

General Education is the home for UW Tacoma premajors. General Education sponsors core curriculum courses. Core classes are taught by exceptional faculty from all academic units at UW Tacoma. The core curriculum introduces students to knowledge across the many interdisciplinary areas offered at UW Tacoma.

General Education academic advisers help students identify and achieve academic goals. Premajors learn to select electives and required courses that prepare them for their academic focus. General Education advisers also guide students to campus resources. This program coordinates the lower-division course offerings across campus and assists students in preparing for their majors or concentrations.
