We realize a more personal learning environment can be the key to academic success. At UW Tacoma, you get an intellectually-stimulating experience as you make connections with your learning community and across academic disciplines.

That's why our freshmen study their first year as part of a close-knit community of students who take their core courses together. In this small learning community, you really get to know your professors and classmates. Our team-taught core courses promote an interdisciplinary style of learning that deepens your understanding of the world and how it works.

You may earn credit in English and economics one quarter, history and sociology the next. Discussion, lectures, reading, writing, and projects focus on one unifying theme designed to broaden your perspective. Plus, you'll find the academic support you need. You can choose from 30 areas of study at UW Tacoma.
